The Directorate for STEM & VET Programmes within the Department for Curriculum, Lifelong Learning and Employability, recently hosted the Malta School Games (MSG) STEAM Treasure Hunt in the historic city of Mdina, bringing together Year 7 and Year 8 students from schools across Malta. This event challenged teams to solve riddles and complete STEAM-based tasks at five different locations, collecting codes that ultimately led them to the final treasure.
The Treasure Hunt was designed with collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity in mind, while giving students a unique opportunity to apply their science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics skills in a real-world setting. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as teams raced against the clock, demonstrating impressive teamwork and determination.
We are proud to announce the top three teams:
1st Place: De La Salle College
2nd Place: Naxxar Middle School
3rd Place: St Martin’s College
Congratulations to all participants for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship! Special recognition goes to De La Salle College, who will have the honour of hosting the official torch relay ceremony to launch the Malta School Games 2026.
Thank you to all educators, organizers, and students for making this event a memorable celebration of STEAM learning and school spirit.
