MSG Torch Relay Continues

The Malta School Games (MSG) Torch Relay continued its journey today, marking another important milestone as the torch was officially passed from Marija Regina College to Gozo College at the Selmun Sports Courts.

The handover ceremony brought together students from Mellieħa Primary School and Gozo College in a celebration of sport, unity, and active participation. Students from both schools engaged in a variety of sporting activities and games, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. The event highlighted the core values promoted by the MSG—teamwork, respect, inclusion, and a passion for physical activity.

The torch was formally presented by the Mellieħa Primary students, symbolising not only the continuation of the relay but also the strong collaboration between schools across colleges. The enthusiasm and sportsmanship displayed by all participants reflected the true spirit of the Malta School Games.

Following the handover, Gozo College students proudly carried the MSG torch on its journey across to Gozo via the Gozo Ferry. This symbolic crossing marks the continuation of the celebrations on the sister island, where the torch will be passed on to various schools, further spreading the message of active lifestyles and community engagement.

The Torch Relay continues to serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of sport in education, bringing together students from across Malta and Gozo in a shared celebration of movement, teamwork, and healthy living.
